DJ Prodigy Nominated For Award

I have been nominated by Sucker Proof DJs for an award on my mixtapes over the past year. After doing mixtapes for the past year I am pretty excited about the opportunity to go to Tampa, Florida for this award show. I have been knew and learned a lot and met a lot of people so far and I will probably meet up with Mr. Sam Hoody himself when I'm in Tampa.

Been A While Since I Posted

So basically I've been busy with a lot of stuff outside of music and I have a lot of stuff to catch on so I figured I'd put a post.

6'6" 240 has done his version of The Gold and The Blue you can listen/download here http://www.zshare.net/audio/64354965c45ecae0/

Also I was recently featured with Ray-P and All Aces 6, on Live from the Dub which is a blog site with all WV DJs and artist. I got a little respect from them over there after I started posting on www.wvrapscene.com

Ray's CD is finished and is getting pressed/printed as we speak so look for hard copies available with in the next week.

Ray's mixtape will be mixed by DJ Schemes and myself in the upcoming weeks and the artwork for that will be crazy and so will the mixing.

On the music front there's not a whole lot to report other than it's a slow time of the year. Look for more Lil Wayne as he is doing the Rebirth (Rock album) and also another Carter album.

Drake's buzz is still unreal despite his awful video for The Best I Ever Had

Jay-Z's album will be huge and features a ton of songs with Kanye West on them, also the We Run This Town video is pretty hot so check that out.

As I said, I don't have a lot to update so that's it for this time and I'll keep you informed on what's going on.

OH, also check out D-Why he has a new single called Mr. Right Now and it's something that could seriously make it on the radio and get air play.

That's it tune in later

He's a Disturbing the Peace DJ, Powerhouse DJ, Core DJ, and Coast2Coast DJ. He's known as one of Morgantown's best DJs and is without a doubt one of the top in the state. This project is underway and will be dropped sometime in the next week.

Ray-P New Mixtape Coming Soon!

www.myspace.com/rayp101988

That's right, Ray-P's new mixtape will be out within the next week or two and it's going to be what WV hip hop needs. Mixing soul beats, dirty south flow, and QUALITY lyrical content this will probably set Ray-P for some serious exposure. Ray-P will attend the Coast2Coast DJ Conference in New York City on August 22nd and will pass out over 500 CDs. For contact information please contact me at djprodigy72@gmail.com

Lazy Lizard July 16th 2009

I got a phone call around 2 pm from DJ Ben McMillen asking me to fill in for him at the Lazy Lizard on High St in Morgantown WV. The lizard is the second most popular bar in Morgantown and usually draws a very large crowd on Thursdays and Saturday night. I went live 10-3 and brought along DJ Wise since he was in the Morgantown area. We each took turns playing and ended up play new hip hop, reggae, top 40, R&B, Electro, Mashups, old school, and any of the request we got.

It was a good night and they plan to have me back in either before classes at WVU starts or after school gets started up. I played for around 400-500 people and above is a picture of what most of the night looked like.

Robbie G

www.myspace.com/robbiegmusic

Robbie G hails from Grapevine Texas and has become one of the most versatile unsigned artist in the USA. Using his smooth vocals he can change from R&B to country with no trouble at all. After having five labels pushing Robbie to sign he decided to stay independent and make his own way in the music industry. One listen to Robbie and there's no denying his music or his skills.

DJ Prodigy will be hosting a mixtape for Robbie in the next few weeks, look for it to drop before August 22.

Ray-P is also in works with his second mixtape of the summer and it will drop in two weeks from today, look for it to download on coast2coastmixtapes.com

DJ Prodigy has also started on the "Me against the industry" mixtape by bad boy artist Mysterious look for it to be completed in 2 weeks.

D-Why Breaks Silence... Breaks New Record

D-Why is back

Here is his new single: Foolish (Rmx)

New Music Videos

Two songs that have been on my past mixtapes now have videos, check them out above.

Other News:

Ray-P is currently working on his second mixtape and it should be out sometime in the next few weeks.

Drake's takeover is building momentum and he is going to sign a record deal sometime this week. Look for his album towards the end of the year and he is about to be in concert with Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy.

Wayne's new rock CD is not getting good reviews from the industry right now and some have said that it could be the beginning of the end.

LMFAO DJ Set

I recently recorded a 20 minute set of all LMFAO remixes or original songs. Here is the download link and it's more of a house set than hip hop in case you don't know what they are about.

WV Needs a Hip Hop Presence

Ok, I have had enough of certain "entertainers" and "hip hop artists" that are trying to represent WV. First, this state does not have a presence at all in hip hop or really any music other than country, but to see performers saying they are running the state it's just plain funny. Ray-P and D Why are the only legit performers in the entire state, and even they aren't know in the state like they should be. In 5 years of DJing and traveling around I have no found two better artists from this state.

I watched a video today on YouTube of a girl from WV rapping about her town she's from and how she's now living the industry life. Are you serious? Really? I'm pretty sure you don't really know anything about it.

I say this knowing I also come from a small town in WV but at least I know where I stand with the music and "what I'm repping." The people you have backing you aren't exactly the right crowd to get noticed in music either so if you are serious about trying to live the industry life, I would see if you can get in with some real artists.

It's time for Ray-P and D Why to get some spins and respect. Maybe the state would finally get noticed if we let the real artist get a chance to put on a show or make a video.

OK. With that said look for some serious mixtape projects coming up featuring DJ Wise, DJ X Factor, DJ Ames and Box Kev may host a mix tape for me. That's it for tonight I'll record a set tomorrow after I get off work.

Drake is about to be a PROBLEM

Is there any doubt that he's the next big thing in hip hop? Weezy may have put some on Young Money that may surpass his popularity. Drake's last two mixtapes have been nuts and just listen to his verse above from the Conan Obrien show. INSANE.

Introducing RAY-P

WV's best kept secret Ray-P has collabed with me to bring you Ray-P More Than Meets The Eye.
You guys that come here to the blog site get a chance to see the cover first and also get a chance to download it before anyone else. Please push Ray-P because the dude has got a chance and I'm tired of terrible hip hop artists around WV trying to act like they rep the state. So without further wait here is Ray-P More Than Meets The Eye.

All Aces Vol.4 on datpiff.com right now go download it FREE

Friday, May 8, 2009

All Aces Vol. 4 is being released tomorrow May 8, 2009.

What to expect from All Aces. 4

- New Eminem, Dr. Dre, Colby O Donis, Hopsin, T.I., Smitty, Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Fabolous, David Banner, Drake, Kanye West, Tyga, and Busta Rhymes to name a few.

- Eminem has 3 tracks on this CD 3 Am, Beautiful, and Old Time Sake with Dr. Dre. These are off Relapse so you guys get a chance to listen before it gets dropped on the 15th. I hear the entire CD has leaked so I doubt it waits til the 15th to release the CD.

-Fabolous song " It's My Time" is my personal favorite on this CD with a close second being Old Time Sake.

On a side note my computer has crashed and the updates may not be as usual as they have been in the past, so I will try to get stuff updated as often as I can.

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

You got to check out the new myspace layout. www.myspace.com/thedjprodigy . Hard Target put it together for me and it makes my page look a whole lot nicer.

I have mentioned a cd with DJ Quick where the concept was North Vs. South and I have picked my two artists. Ray and D-Why from Charleston WV. They have very different styles but I think they would make a good CD and rep WV better than some of the people that are trying to do that now.

I will update you guys on some new music tomorrow and til then keep listening.

Hot New Singles: Fabolous Ft. Jeremih - It's My Time
Jadakiss Ft. Mary J. Blige - Grind Hard
The Clipse Ft. Kanye West - Kinnda Like A Big Deal

Once again it has been a few days since the last time I posted because I have been busy with other stuff going on but I am back.

Currently I am at work with DJ Quick of Coast2CoastMixtapes.com putting together a mixtape that will be a north vs. south scenario. We each get to pick 2 artists from our respective areas of the US where we are from so I get the north and he has the south. 7 tracks from each DJ on the same CD and the battle begins. We set this up yesterday and this is in the early stages of development but look for this CD to be completed in the next few weeks.

All Aces 4 will have a special cover on it which will be a lot different than the past and I have already placed 4 songs on it for next month. I am adding them by the day that I get them on Dat Piff so that I won't have any more problems trying to upload a lot of tracks at once.

The Rick Ross CD has leaked and is getting mixed reviews but the Jadakiss CD is unbelieveable go buy it support the artists!

All Aces Vol.3 Finally on Coast2Coast

I have had so many problems uploading this mixtape to Dat Piff that it is disgusting. All of the tracks can be heard in full if you download it from coast2coastmixtapes.com. Sorry for the wait and All Aces Vol.4 will be out soon.

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

I was sent an email asking me to submit information to Sucker Proof DJ's coalition for acceptance into the coalition, and after my information got reviewed they accepted me. So now everything will have Coast2Coast logos on it as well as Sucker Proof DJ's.

Next week look for All Aces 4 to drop.
All Aces Vol. 3 is uploaded now and you can download it here http://www.sendspace.com/file/3zbxae

It will be posted on Dat Piff and also Coast2Coast Mixtapes but for some reason I am having problems uploading it there. I got screwed over on my cover and I will no longer have Myth GFX doing my covers for me. Hard Target Graphics will now be in charge of my covers and he does a great job as you can see above. Please download and spread this CD over the internet.

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Ok, so I know it has been a while since I have posted anything, but I was on spring break with no internet. Then once I came back I was DJing the club three times last week so it has been hectic. There will never be another lay over like that any time in the future and with that said here's an update on everything.

The music industry is entering the second quarter of the year which is when a lot of really good music comes out. Right now there is so much good music being released it's hard to keep up with but on the radio, in the club, and on mixtapes you will be hearing new music that is really good during the next few weeks until about half way through summer. I remind you to check out my mixtapes to see what music is coming out and what new stuff is available. I can no longer post music here but you can download my mixtapes.

Moving on here are new songs you guys need to check out but keep in mind these are club hits, R&B hits, hip hop, and songs that I like so there is not one certain type of music here.

Ten To Check Out
1. Boom Boom Pow- Black Eyed Peas
2. Flight School- Kanye West T-Pain
3. Apologize (Rmx) - Rock It Scientists
4. Brand New- Trey Songz
5. One In A Million- Ryan Leslie
6. Put It On- Kat Deluna Ft. Lil Wayne
7. The Usual Suspects- Rick Ross Ft. Nas
8. I Need A Girl- Trey Songz
9. Move- Mims
10. Number One - Busta Rhymes

Worst Song Of The Month
Stanky Leg- G Spot Boys

There is absolutely no reason for this song to have ever become popular, this is what is runing hip hop and new music. The only reason it has come onto the scene is because of the dance that is as bad as the song.

Top Albums Soon To Be Released

Busta Rhymes
- His CD is going to be loaded with hits and has the potential to be the best CD he has ever done. Arab Money, Conglomerate, Number One, and Can't Take It.

Rick Ross- Despite 50 Cent making him look like a fool for the past two months or so his CD is going to be extremely good. Look for it to be better than 50's CD. I think the Three Headed Monster of 50, Eminem, and Dre will have two good CDs. However, I don't think 50's will be one of them and with the way Detox has been going it's hard to say when Dre's album will drop. On Ricky's cd look for The Usual Suspects, Magnificant, and Shitten On Em to be some of his hits.

Flo Rida- Don't look for any lyrical content from his CD but it will follow the same pattern as his last CD did..... club hit after club hit. Right Round has become huge and was the fastest song to be downloaded 1 million times. I am not a huge Flo Rida fan but his popularity is hard to argue with in the masses. Look for Right Round, On and On, and Be On You to be his top songs.

Jadakiss- I look for his cd The Last Kiss to be a good one and to me he already has a hit with Right By My Side Ft. Ne Yo. Jada is without a doubt one of the best rappers around and his CD will be big in the streets.

Other Artist Info

Lil Wayne- I am not the biggest Wayne fan but of course he is all over the music scene. He is getting Young Money rolling and look for Drake to possibly be the next big Hip Hop/Rap/R&B artist to emerge. His popularity on Dat Piff and other mixtape websites is hard to ignore.

Wayne is working on CDs with Juelz Santana, T-Pain, DJ Drama, and has been doing his own singles as well. Despite a hoax he was shot going to a show in Oklahoma he continues to put out singles with Kat Deluna and other artists.

Mims- Mims has three singles that all could become popular.... look for Donkey Booty, Block Em, and Move.

Ne Yo- Has a ton of singles out and I am unsure if he has a CD coming out or not. If you are into R&B, I like what I hear from here more now than I did on his last CD. Look for Trouble Makers as his potential next single.

Lupe Fiasco- Has said that he may only do one more hip hop CD which would be terrible for hip hop. Lupe continues to impress me as one of the few extremely talented young artists in the industry.

T.I.- Sentenced to 1 year and 1 day in prision this past week. Probably at the top of his game coming off his Papertrail CD and before he was locked up released several singles that are not on any cd. Look for some of those singles to hit the radio. I'm Feeling You and Get That Money.

All Aces Vol.3 comes out today and Vol.4 will be out sometime in the next week and half so check back here for updates and GO DOWNLOAD IT.

All Aces Vol.2 is getting released tomorrow on Coast2Coast.com. It's here finally, and with All Aces Vol.1 having 500 thousand downloads this is the sequel. It's filled with Lil Wayne, Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes, Maino, Lloyd, 50 Cent, Jeezy, and others. Check it out and download at www.coast2coastmixtapes.com
New business card that I'll be handing out to people that want me to DJ. The back is being finished but I just wanted to update this and give you guys a preview. I like it other than my head got cut out of the bottom right picture.

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

So I have just received an email that the RIAA has asked blogger to take down one of my files I had posted on New Music Monday of this past week. With that said, there will be no more New Music Monday and I will just preview songs rather than make them available for download. I'm sorry for this because I thought it would be a great way to reach out and let you guys hear new music first, but unfortunately the Man has different things in mind.

With that taken care of, All Aces Vol.2 is getting released this Friday and The Best of Bubba Sparxxx will be too. I am currently waiting on the covers to be completed by MythGFX. I'm sorry for the inconvenice of not having download links anymore but we will continue to preview new music either way.

Bubba Sparxxx and Me after his concert in Clarksburg.

Bubba was chill and anytime you are interested in a good hip hop concert definitely check him out. I also Morgantown's 6'6" 240 went on before Bubba and he has a song with Almost Heaven in the hook which is probably going to be really popular in this area. I also met DJ Burn One from Atlanta (Bubba's DJ) and Bubba's manager. Bubba took one of the cds and his manager also took one of my Best of Bubba Sparxxx. Overall it was a good time and a great experience. Below is a video of him performing Deliverance, and it's not the best quality but it's a chance to see what it was like. Check in tomorrow for New Music Monday.

Let me know what you think of the cover by leaving me a comment below and hats off to MythGFX for the cover. His work is unbelievable and proves time after time that he's the best. Once this is up for download please feel free to download it and leave me feedback thanks.
